GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. – Lynn Afendoulis, a Michigan State Representative and candidate for the state’s 3rd Congressional district seat, earned a coveted spot on Congresswoman Elise Stefanik’s “Women to Watch” list. She joins a select group of top female Republican challengers recognized by Stefanik’s Elevate PAC (E-PAC), which also today released the second slate of candidates it is supporting.
“Congresswoman Stefanik represents the future of our party and of the women in its ranks: strong, conservative women who will work with the President to get things done. I’m honored to be recognized with these exceptional women candidates across the country,” said Afendoulis. “Our campaign is gaining the momentum we need to take out Justin Amash and give Michigan’s 3rd District a representative in D.C. who will stand for its values and represents its people.”
Lynn is the only woman in the Republican primary in Michigan’s 3rd district and has proven herself to be a strong fundraiser and candidate early on in the cycle. Her campaign has already received the endorsement of 23 state legislators, the most of any candidate.
After the 2018 election, Congresswoman Stefanik launched E-PAC to engage, empower, and elevate female candidates that are proving themselves as formidable competitors even before the primary election. Her goal is to get more women through their primaries to increase the Republican female delegation in Congress. To earn a spot on the “watch list” candidates must establish a strong campaign infrastructure and plan.

Lynn is running for Congress because she believes we are fighting for the very fabric of who and what we are–the things that President Trump is fighting for and that attracted her grandparents to this country. She wants to protect the rule of law and represent the people of the 3rd District in a way that they’ve been yearning for – with integrity, engagement, and effectiveness. And to show her children that this is all worth fighting for.
