Grand Rapid, MI – Today, Lynn Afendoulis, candidate for Michigan’s 3rd Congressional seat, was named as an “On the Radar” candidate in the NRCC’s Young Guns program. The NRCC’s Young Guns program requires candidates to work towards specific goals and meet benchmarks throughout the election cycle to ensure their campaigns remain competitive, well-funded, and communicative within their districts. Not every candidate running in MI-3 has received this designation.
Afendoulis said, “Our campaign is working hard every day to talk to voters about how my background as a businessperson, mom and community leader makes me the best candidate to defeat Justin Amash and whichever extreme liberal the Democrats nominate. West Michigan has been my home all my life. I know that this community can do better than someone who refuses to work with the president, who sides with Pelosi and who leaves the party and ignores his district.”
“I look forward to continuing to earn the support of the voters of West Michigan in the coming months and giving them the representation that they’ve been missing under Amash’s tenure.”
Lynn’s campaign raised $160,000 in Q3 and had the highest number of donors of any of the candidates running for the Republican nomination. Her grassroots support has only grown during October, and she will continue to work hard to earn the people’s support in the coming months.

NRCC Announces 24 “On the Radar” Candidates in Third Round of Young Guns Program
WASHINGTON – The NRCC today announced the third round of “On the Radar” candidates as part of the committee’s 2020 Young Guns program. The program mentors and supports candidates in races across the country and works to provide them with the necessary tools to run successful, winning campaigns against their Democratic opponents.
“We’re thrilled to add these compelling, hardworking candidates to our Young Guns program,” said NRCC Chairman Tom Emmer. “While Nancy Pelosi and the socialist Democrats continue to focus on the baseless impeachment of President Trump, we will be working with our candidates to take back the majority in 2020.”
