GRAND RAPIDS, MICH., – Lynn Afendoulis, candidate for congress in MI-3, announced the endorsement of former Kent County Sheriff Larry Stelma, a respected leader in the community who retired in 2018 after 18 years as sheriff. This endorsement is the first of a current or past Kent County official in the MI-03 primary and builds on Lynn’s focus on gaining endorsements from Michigan. As the primary gets closer, continue to look for more Michiganders to support Lynn.
Sheriff Stelma said: “I have known Lynn for many years and know her track record of serving West Michigan in many capacities to make it a better place to live. She now has a proven conservative record in Lansing that demonstrates how she will represent voters in Washington. In these difficult times, we need someone who can work with law enforcement and the community to bring people together. I’m proud to support Lynn, and encourage the voters of the third district to do the same.”
“I couldn’t be more honored to earn Sheriff Stelma’s endorsement,” Afendoulis said. “He served this community with skill and dedication for 18 years, and knows what kind of leadership we need in Washington, DC. The fact that he trusts me to deliver that is a great honor and a great responsibility. I will give our community the type of engaged, conservative representation we need. And I will work with President Trump and the leaders of our community to make sure West Michigan remains a great and safe place to live and raise a family. I have proven I can do that in Lansing and I will do that in Washington.”
Lynn is running for Congress because she believes we are fighting for the very fabric of who and what we are–the things that President Trump is fighting for and that attracted her grandparents to this country. She wants to protect the rule of law and represent the people of the 3rd District in a way that they’ve been yearning for – with integrity, engagement, and effectiveness. And to show her children that this is all worth fighting for.
