Rockford, MI — Lynn Afendoulis today announced her candidacy for the Republican nomination for State Representative in Michigan's 90th House District, pledging to bring accountability and fiscal discipline to a state government she says has lost both.
"It's not complicated: Lansing spends too much taxpayer money on a fat government that has grown beyond capacity and need. I've never been afraid to challenge the establishment or buck the status quo, and that's not going to change. And with a term under my belt, I'll be able to hit the ground running."

Afendoulis served one term in the state House, in the 2019–2020 session. She challenged Peter Meijer in the 2020 Republican primary for Michigan's 3rd Congressional District. She is running for the seat being vacated by Rep. Bryan Posthumus to finish the job she started.
She noted that the state budget has increased 40% since she left office. "This is out of control," Afendoulis said. "I'm going back to help stop the madness, because we can't afford this."
